What is UAV Photogrammetry?

UAV Photogrammetry is the science of making measurements from photographs. The output of photogrammetry is typically a map, a drawing or 3D modelling of some real-world object or land mass.

Our Photogrammetric models are accurate to less than 2 cm with real life accuracies often less than 1 cm. As the models are essentially made up of photographs they also have highly detailed textures, unlike more expensive technologies such as LIDAR and laser scanning which produce similar accuracy but include none of the textured detail that photogrammetry produces .

UAV Photogrammetry and BIM

There is no question about the future of Business Information Modelling (BIM). It is being introduced widely in many sectors throughout the UK and Ireland.

Photogrammetry and 3D modelling can be incorporated straight into BIM using applications such as Autodesk©. This produces highly detailed, highly accurate models straight in BIM. As we use our state of the art UAV/drone to capture all the data we don’t just get the sides of a building, we can get the roof too.
